About Studio Nergens
Studio Nergens creates transdisciplinary performances at the intersection of music theatre, visual arts and immersive media.
We create sensory experiences that invite the audience to look inward. This inward journey takes them to a place where personal associations arise in response to universal philosophical questions.
Our work centers on the audience. They are right there, immersed in scenes, or even walking through them as protagonists. Moving music and creative technology are our most important allies in this process.
Our performances are shown in various renowned venues, from (music) theatre and film festivals to concert halls and museums at home and abroad.
Studio Nergens is opgericht door regisseur Celine Daemen. Zij studeerde in 2018 af aan de regieopleiding van Toneelacademie Maastricht en werd, via operagezelschap Silbersee, van 2021 tot 2023 ondersteund door Fonds Podiumkunsten in het kader van de regeling Nieuwe Makers, waarin ze haar unieke signatuur verder verdiepte. Artdirector en techdirector Aron Fels is al vanaf het begin vast betrokken bij Studio Nergens. Sinds juli 2025 is Sophie Simenel aan boord als zakelijk leider. De samenwerkingen met componisten, schrijvers, 3D-artiesten, software programmeurs en ondersteunende professionals zijn op projectbasis, maar zijn vaak doorlopend en duurzaam van aard.

​Studio Nergens ontvangt sinds 2025 ​meerjarige ondersteuning van Fonds Podiumkunsten.

De studio heeft de afgelopen jaren veel nationale en internationale aandacht gegenereerd met virtual reality-opera’s, waarin bezoekers lopend, met een VR-bril op, beeldende muzikale scènes verkennen.

We wonnen verschillende prestigieuze internationale prijzen. Voor Songs for a Passerby mochten we op de Biënnale van Venetië in 2023 de Venice Immersive Grand Prize voor beste immersieve ervaring in ontvangst nemen. Onze VR-opera Eurydice mocht eerder in 2022 al een Reflet D’Or voor beste immersieve ervaring op GIFF in Genève ontvangen.
Studio Nergens endorses the Collective Labor Agreement for Theater and Dance , the ' Governance Code for Culture ' and the ' Code for Cultural Diversity '.
