About the event
Eurydice, a descent into infinity
For centuries we have mused on the infinity of our soul, which leaves our body after death as a temporary shell and continues to wander. Whether reincarnating, ascending to a heaven or being uploaded to the cloud. They are all desires based on the contradiction between the deceptive material world and a higher eternal reality in which we acquiesce.
Eurydice, a descent into infinity is a Virtual Reality opera in which you, as a spectator, immerse yourself in an immersive experience. An individual journey, inspired by the ancient myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. A battle between matter and eternity, in which time fades and the laws of space fall. 'Where do you belong? Between wandering, disembodied souls or with your feet in the clay?'
Eurydice's hypnotic singing draws you deeper and deeper into the labyrinth of corridors, ruins and balustrades, beyond which dizzying depths and vistas open up. Your curiosity is the best compass in this fascinating interspace full of VR, poetry, and enchanting music.
This experience is set up continuously and can be experienced individually in time slots of half an hour. So you reserve a time slot per person. Are you coming with several people? Then book different time slots in succession. Make sure you are present fifteen minutes before the start of your time slot.
This VR opera is being developed within the New Makers scheme of the Performing Arts Fund in collaboration with Silbersee and VIA ZUID.
